2009 Clark County Running Club Spring/Summer Calendar All CCRC runs are free to members unless noted. There is a $2.00 fee for Non-members There is no pre-registration. Just show up 30 minutes before the start to register. Please no Baby Joggers, Head Phones or Dogs. (For Insurance purposes)
New Years Eve Fun Run/Walk 2.6 miles around Horseshoe Lake 9am Thurs. Dec. 31st Horseshoe Park boat launch (Woodland) Untimed. Donate 2 or more cans of food for the local food bank Rain or shine Direction: Take the first Woodland exit Turn left at the light. go through the next light west Turn left 1block on Lake Shore Dr. by the Visitor Park and ride Go south about 1 half mi. to Horseshoe Park turn right- Go west 2blocks to the boat launch and 2nd parking lot
Friday, January 1, 10 AM Annual Hangover 5K Run Run Director: Ron Hughes 260-8722 Start the New Year off with a brisk 5k run around the Fort Vancouver Barracks. This is a good time to renew your CCRC membership. Directions: Go east from 1-5 on Mill Plain Blvd., then south on Fort Vancouver Way to 5th St.. The run starts on 5th St. Restrooms are closed.
Saturday, January 9, 10 AM Heritage Trail 3 & 7 & 10 Mile Runs Run Directors: Nathan & Madeleine Sellers 509-427-7119 These runs will be an out and back on the unpaved and flat trail starting from the boat ramp parking area just west of the Moose Lodge at the southeast end of Lacamas Lake. The 10 mile runs Goes out past the golf club and up Payne hill before you turn-around. It should be Payneful but fun!! If you need extra time to finish, you are welcome to start at 9:30. Directions: From SE 164th ave., go east on SE 1st St. (1st becomes Lake Road on the south side of Lacamas Lake) approx. 4.8 miles to the paved parking area on the north side of the road. If you come to Everett St, you have gone too far east. Restrooms available.

Saturday, January 30th, 10 AM Salmon Creek Park 3 & 6 Mile Runs Run Directors: Bryan Chapman & Ron Hughes 260-8722 Both runs are an out and back on the paved Salmon Creek trail. Directions: From Hwy 99 go west on N.E. 117th St. to Salmon Creek Park. Parking is free & restrooms avail.

Saturday, February 13th, 10 AM Washougal Dike 6 Mile Run Run Director: Fred Robbins 771-1742 Run on the dike trail in Washougal. A great out & back on a flat course. Porta- potties available. Directions: Go east on Hwy 14 to Washougal. Turn right at 15th St. ( Steamboat Landing). Additional parking across the street at Pendleton Mills.
Saturday, March 6th, 9 AM Lincoln School 4.3 Mile Run Run Director: Wendy Beck 513-5022 Run thru the Lincoln neighborhood to the Discovery trail, then climb thru the Ben Franklin neighborhood - back to Lincoln School. Directions: Go west from 1-5 on 39th St., then north on Columbia St.. Then go west on 44th St. one block to Lincoln School. No Restrooms
Saturday, March 13th, 9 AM Salmon Creek 7.6 Mile Run Run Director: Doug Settlemier 573-7332 This run will be a counter-clockwise loop that uses the Salmon Cr. trail and the local neighborhood streets. Restrooms available. Directions: From Hwy 99 go west on N.E. 117th St.- Drive PAST Salmon Cr. Park approx. 1/3 mile and turn right on the first paved road on your right. This is the area of the park where the baseball diamonds are located.
Saturday, March 20th 10 AM Esther Short Park 4 & 8 Mile Runs Run Director: Bryan Chapman 989-7065 or 608-8624 Starting at Esther Short Park and run along the waterfront trail - almost to Wintler Park. Directions: Take Mill Plain exit on 1-5 - go west to Washington - turn left (south) to 8th St. - to Esther Short Park. Race starts near restrooms.
Saturday, March 27th, 10 AM Lacamas Park 5 Mile Run Directors: Jenny & Terry Knight 254-5737 This run follows the mostly unpaved trails around Round Lake. This is a beautiful & challenging trail run. Restrooms available. Directions: From S.E. 164th ave., go east on S.E. 1st St. (1st becomes Lake Rd. on the south side of Lacamas Lake) approx. 5 miles to Everett St. in Camas. Then go north on Everett St. for 100 yards to the main parking lot for Lacamas Lake Park - on the east side of the road. There is an over-flow parking area on N.E. 35th ave. , just north of the park.
Saturday, April 3rd, 10 AM Hockinson Meadows Park 5k Run Directors: Lou & Sue Diaz 260-2851 Run a new course and be certain of a personal best. Course is gravel, black top, grass and flat. Directions: From 1-205 take Padden Parkway exit - go east on Padden Parkway approx. 3 miles & turn left (north) on 117th ave.- Go north on 117th ave approx. 2 miles & turn right (east) on N.E. 119th St.- Stay on N.E. 119th St. approx. 2 3/4 miles & turn right (south) on N.E. 172nd ave. Park is 1/2 mile down 172nd ave. on your right. Restrooms available.
Saturday, April 10th 10 AM Lewisville Park 5k Run Run Directors: Bryan Chapman & Ron Hughes 989-7065 Run the unpaved trails & roads in beautiful Lewisville Park. Directions: Go north on SR503 approx. 2 miles past the inter- section with N.E. 219th St. in Battle Ground. The entrance to the park is on your right, just after crossing over the East Fork Lewis River. Restrooms available.
Saturday, April 17th, 10 Am Marine Park 5k Run Run Directors: Glen & Kris Hostetter 503-318-4261 Run the Renaissance trail & view the Columbia River. Directions: From Hwy 14 take the Columbia House exit to Columbia Shores Blvd. south, then east on Columbia Way to the parking area, just west of Marine Park Way. There are 2 parking areas- 1 on Columbia Way & 1 on Marine Park Way. Restrooms available.
SUNDAY, April 25th, 10 AM Burnt Bridge Creek 3.4 Mile Run Run Director: *Lance Thiede* 910-6803 This run is on the Burnt Bridge Creek trail west of Andresen Rd. Directions: Go south from SR500 on Andresen Road. Then west on 18th St.. Go left at the stop light at Devine Rd.. Parking for the trailhead is on the east side of Devine Rd.- More parking available on 18th St. if needed. Restrooms available.
SUNDAY, May 2nd, 10 AM Dubois Park 5k Run Run Director: Lance Thiede 910-6803 65% trails & cross country. This course has plenty of character. Directions: Go east of 1-5 on Mill Plain Blvd., take right on Macarthur Blvd., then take first right past Blandford Dr. onto Phoenix Way. Go 1 block west to Dubois Park. No Restrooms.
Saturday, May 8th, 9 AM Columbia River 10k Run Run Director: Joe "Fast" Rowley 360-903-3388 This run will be an out & back on the paved bike path that runs along the Columbia River. Directions: Take the 1-205 bridge south into Oregon. Take the 1st exit (airport way) then drive east to 122nd ave. Go north on 122nd ave. to Marine Dr. - then west on Marine Dr.. Drive to the light just before you go under the 1-205 bridge. Turn left at this light and park on the side of this service road. Restrooms available inside Home Depot.
Saturday, May 15th, 10 AM Marine Park 5 Mile Run Run Directors: Ron Hughes & Marie Wodaege 260-8722 Run the Renaissance trail and nearby streets. Directions: From Hwy 14 take Columbia House exit to Columbia Shores Blvd., south, then east on Columbia Way to the parking area. There are 2 parking areas - 1 on Columbia Way & 1 on Marine Park Way. Restrooms available.
WEDNESDAY, May 26th, 7 PM David Douglas 5k Run Run Directors: Bill & Janet Fallon 892-1041 Run the paved & dirt trails of David Douglas Park and the surrounding neighborhood streets. Restrooms available. Directions: Go west from 1-5 on Mill Plain Blvd., then north on Garrison Road (the light next to Garrison Square). Go left at the entrance north of the ball field and proceed to the furthest west parking lot. |
